Spring Cleaning Part 1 - Your Space

Spring Cleaning Part 1 - Your Space

More hours of sunlight these days offer is the perfect opportunity to clear clutter and re-organize your workspace, be that your desk at the office or your living room couch! Cleaning and organizing are also great ways to boost your mental health.

Decluttering your workspace offers numerous benefits:

Save yourself time. Having an organized desk or table allows you to quickly and efficiently find documents, materials and even writing utensils when needed, alleviating anxiety when you’re in a hurry.

Improve your focus. Extra things in your space, especially non-essential items, can cause you to become distracted. Having a clean and structured workspace can help you stay focused and feel more productive.

Make a positive impression. A little organization goes a long way so you can avoid making your manager or co-workers wait or stepping away from a Zoom call while you search for something.

Eat better. It’s true! According the Psychological Science journal, individuals who work in a cleaner environment are more prone to choose an apple over chocolate as a snack. Having a cluttered space can cause extra stress, which can result in your body craving comfort foods as a coping mechanism.

Take a few moments today to spring clean your space - remove everything, recycle or return what you can, wipe off the dust and grime, group like items and give everything a home - to get back some time and enjoy these longer days.
