Making Valentine's Day Special

Making Valentine's Day Special

Valentine’s Day is approaching and this year, planning a “stay-at-home” date is particularly relevant. Whether you are celebrating alone or with your significant other, BFF or the entire family, a little extra effort can make this a sweet and fun holiday to remember!

  • Make breakfast in bed or have an indoor picnic for lunch or dinner. Taking the time to make your sweetheart’s favorite meal is an excellent way to show you care. Or treat yourself and order delivery from a popular restaurant.

  • Write a sincere card or love letter to a special person or several people in your life. Share how grateful you are to be connected and why. This can also be a fun activity for children, using art supplies to get creative with DIY cards.

  • Plan a game night for two, with a fun menu of beverages and snacks. Or if you’re spending Valentine’s Day apart from friends and family, use Zoom or Skype to host a virtual gathering.

  • Have a movie marathon. Your lineup could include your favorite romantic comedies, action flicks or even horror movies, whatever suits your fancy.

  • Organize an at-home spa day or evening. Masks, lotions or bath bombs are enjoyable whether you are bonding with your significant other or taking time for yourself.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about romantic love - if it is just you, use the day to practice some self-care. Make this holiday an opportunity to relax and recharge yourself or with those near and dear to your heart.
