Boosting Your Body Image in the Winter

Boosting Your Body Image in the Winter

Winter presents a wonderful opportunity to embrace self-care and nurture a positive body image. You can boost your self-esteem and improve your wellbeing with the right tools and mindset. Here are a few tips for improving your self-image during winter and beyond.

  • Get some sun. Take a brisk walk when you can. Sunlight will help revitalize you, and Vitamin D will boost your mood. Vitamin D supplements are also a great option.

  • Purchase winter clothes that you feel comfortable in. Find pieces that flatter you and make you feel confident.

  • Find little things that make you feel more excited about your body. Paint your nails, dye your hair, put on makeup or remove any makeup that you don’t feel comfortable in. Whatever makes you feel like your body is yours and is fantastic.

  • Socialize. Call a friend, meet someone for coffee or dinner or go on a winter walk in a park. Having an active social life will help you focus on the relationships around you and take the focus away from what you see as “flaws.”
