When Snacking Is A Good Idea

Nibbling mindfully on healthy food is much different than eating an entire bag of chips. When done right, snacking can be a healthy habit!

Snacking is a good idea when -

  • You just exercised. Eating some protein within one hour of exercising gives your body what it needs to repair muscles, which reduces soreness and risk of injury. Plant-based protein bars and smoothies are both great choices!

  • You're choosing the right foods. Replace those processed, sugary snacks with whole foods like fruits, veggies, or a scoop of almonds. This will help you get more essential nutrients, vitamins and fiber.

  • You're not overdoing it. It's still important to keep your snacking in check, regardless of what you're eating. Avoid snacking when you're bored or stressed. Snack according to how active you are during the day and how long you're going between regular meals. Pay attention to your hunger cues!
