Using Your Strengths In The New Year

One of the best tools to help you accomplish your goals in the New Year is to find your strengths!  You know what has worked for you in the past, and you probably know what has not worked!  Reflecting on your strengths and your past successes can be helpful when working towards your future goals.

Tips to uncover your strengths
Ask yourself these questions when trying to figure out how to use your own strengths to achieve your goals.

  1. Reflect on past accomplishments. What did it take for you to be successful?

  2. What was easy? What was harder to do?

  3. How did overcoming past challenges make you stronger?

  4. What skills and resources did you use to overcome the challenges and help accomplish your goals?

  5. What would your friends and/or family members say are your best qualities?

In thinking about the last question, for example.  Would they say that you are organized, determined, or focused?  Or, would they say that you love to learn new things?  Maybe you are competitive.  If so, how might these strengths help you achieve your 2020 wellness goals? 

We are all unique and we all possess unique qualities!  Knowing our strengths -the characteristics that come naturally to us – just might be the key to success this year!
